Making Your First Visit Count

To provide you with a precise assessment and a tailored surgical plan during our very first meeting, comprehensive diagnostics are essential.

  • Electrophysiological Results: Please bring current nerve conduction studies (NCS/EMG) from your treating neurologist.
  • High-Resolution Neurosonography: Nerve ultrasound is currently the most critical imaging modality in peripheral nerve surgery, allowing us to see the exact structural condition of the nerve. If you do not have access to a specialized neurosonographer, we can refer you to an expert in our network.
  • Previous Records: Bring any previous surgical reports, MRI scans (on CD/USB), and relevant doctor's letters.

Seeking a Second Opinion

Because peripheral nerve surgery is highly complex, we frequently see patients who have experienced complications from previous procedures or who continue to suffer from unresolved pain.

If you are seeking a clear, objective evaluation of your diagnosis, we offer dedicated second-opinion consultations. We will thoroughly review your case and imaging before you commit to any further treatment. Learn more about our specialized approach to Revision Surgery.

Trauma Care

Acute Injuries & Surgical Timing

In the event of acute hand trauma or severe lacerations, our specialized emergency department is fully equipped to provide immediate, expert care.

However, it is important to know that most peripheral nerve injuries do not require immediate, middle-of-the-night surgery. In fact, delaying the nerve reconstruction for a few days is often medically advantageous. It allows for the swelling to subside, ensures optimal pre-operative imaging, and guarantees that your surgery is performed under the best possible planned conditions.

Recovery

The Post-Operative Journey

A flawless operation is only the first step. To make your recovery as convenient as possible, routine follow-up care—such as dressing changes and suture removal—can usually be comfortably performed close to home by your referring physician. Should any problems or complications arise, you can always return to our center's emergency department.

Rebuilding sensory feeling and motor function requires specialized therapy. We collaborate with a network of highly skilled hand and nerve therapists to guide your rehabilitation. Furthermore, all our patients are invited to participate in our Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) program, allowing us to continuously monitor and support your healing process over time.
